The Famille Dutraive brand was created by Jean-Louis himself, after losing 90% of his harvest in the catastrophic frost of 2016. The grapes come from local farmers, with organic certification, and are vinified in carbonic maceration on indigenous yeasts. The Chiroubles of 2017 come from a single vineyard of 70 years of average age; the grapes are vinified in cement and aged in steel and neutral oak for six months. Chiroubles is the most delicate of all the Beaujolais crus, with its light and fragrant character. In fact it is the cru that matures before all the others. Its bouquet is well developed and it already has tons of charisma.
