A blend of 70% Cabernet Sauvignon 20% Merlot and 10% Shiraz from Murdoch Hill's Oakbank vineyard at 420 metres ASL in the Adelaide Hills. The grapes are sourced from a predominately east-facing slope, which avoids the harsh afternoon sun and produces cool, savory wines with more finesse. Crisp and bright, herbal and blue fruited, light and frisky. The greenery is a strong lead in the wine, perfume and palate, the major thing in front of blueberry, mulberry and briny acidity. It feels like a luncheon wine, has a good sheath of tannins, finishes decent and reasonably long with a little pulverized rock grippiness to tannin.
