Out of stockThis wine is exotic; its made on a peninsula in southwest Greece, located north of Crete, across the Ionian Sea from Calabria, and across the Aegean Sea from Turkey. It is the place of the first Olympics at Olympia and home to the cities of Sparta, Corinth, and Argos. The Kalamata olive comes from here as well as great wines. High up on the hills at an altitude of 2100 feet, the Troupis family tends to Moschofilero and Agiorgitiko on roughly 70 acres, which it shares with ferns, fruit trees, and flowers. Medium-bodied and dry, this 100% Agiorgitiko is fermented in stainless steel. Dark red in color with a nose of pomegranate and cranberry. The palate is precise and refreshing with a velvety finish of smooth tannins and some gooseberry. Serve lightly chilled with tomato sauces, grilled meats, and even fish.
