Plain and simple, more people should be drinking Muscadet. The grape here is Melon de Bourgogne, originally from Burgundy, and the wines are vibrant, fresh, and full of energy. Michel Delhommeau makes a benchmark style, crystalline and pure, with plenty of acidity, flavor, and texture. Muscadet is the classic pairing for oysters, but it would pair beautifully with any food that has salt. Mussels & french fries, mushroom risotto, roasted chicken with root veggies would all sing next to this surprising and underrated wine.
